If you’ve read my first blog from when I started at Brave Little Tank, then you’ll already know a little bit about me. If you haven’t, why not?!, go and see why I chose to become an apprentice.
Well, it’s now been (a very busy) 8 months, but I am happy to say that I have completed my Level 3 Diploma in Social Media and Digital Marketing with Brave Little Tank. Even better news? They’ve asked me to stay on and complete my Level 4 Diploma!
What have I accomplished during Level 3?
I joined Brave Little Tank in September 2016, and managed to fit 12 months of apprenticeship work into 5 months. I learnt so much more in those 5 months, than I had previously within two other companies who just weren’t suitable for the Digital Marketing apprenticeship.
Coming into an industry with a very vague knowledge and understanding, and managing to complete my Level 3 Diploma in such a short time has been very overwhelming for me, but such a huge achievement.
I am constantly learning new skills and features, as well as keeping myself up to date with the latest trends in the industry.
In the BLT office no opinion or idea is left unheard, resulting in ‘thinking outside the box’ becoming an everyday occurrence, and I love working in this environment. The team have encouraged me not to be shy or nervous about any contributions I make to a project, whether it be branding ideas for a client, or social media content.
As a personal development, my confidence has increased massively, I am now way more confident speaking to the guys, and our customers. I perform more professionally, resulting in being given the key responsibility of creating campaigns for a client’s social media channels.
I am also now a regular at exhibitions and networking events with Brave Little Tank, although I still get nervous, once I’m there I’ll happily talk to anyone.
I have become part of a close-knit, friendly team who are willing to help me when I get stuck on my academy work, and are even brave (or foolish) enough to let me be in charge of the music!
I’ve also become a pro at stuffing my face with endless cakes, pizza, chicken selects, at our coffee mornings and team lunches… I seriously love food.
Why did I choose to complete Level 4?
I like learning more and more about the industry I am in – having the chance to be part of this rapidly evolving sector is the best thing about my apprenticeship. I am able to get hands on experience, continuing to learn new things, and expand on my previous knowledge with more in-depth tasks.
The Level 4 Diploma will allow me to focus my academy units around the work that I already do and enjoy, giving me a better understanding of what I do in the industry, and why.
I am aiming to complete my Level 4 within the next year, I’m already ahead with my workload and am feeling really confident so far.
I also want to further develop my progress, through self-training, this will include online courses to improve my knowledge base and help grow my professional techniques.
After the year is up? Who knows what will happen, but I’ll be sure to let you all know nearer the time. In the meantime, I will just be going with the flow and enjoying winning more of my fave drink (not that I drink it in the office of course)!
